Gulliver’s Travels

A commoner who wished to be noticed by people. That’s Gulliver.

This movie is more about believing in yourself. And Gulliver does not have that. But sooner or later, he came to realize a very important lesson in life.

Gulliver’s stories on the little people in Liliput are mostly a lie. I think he did that so that the little people would adore him and he would get noticed by the townspeople. That’s his wish, right? It also came to a point where he was reigned as the hero of that little town.

But, the time will really came where the truth set him free. You want a spoiler? And, he lived happily ever after. 😉 Enjoy!

Lovely Complex

This is a Japanese movie that I have seen approximately a month ago. I love the story because of its story line. 😉

There’s this boy who is too short and a girl who is too tall. The girl promised not to fall in love with a short guy but what happens when she does?

Most couples always see to it that the guy is always taller than the girl. In that way, it would not be too awkward walking in streets than having the opposite way.

But, in this movie, it clearly explains the quote, “Height doesn’t matter.” Too many it does, but to them, it’s nothing. And I find it sweet on how they manage their love story. Better watch it guys! 😉

Wild Child

A spoiled brat, that would be the best term to describe Poppy (Emma Roberts).

She was brought to an all-girls school because of being a “wild child”. Now, she wants to be kicked-out in the school by breaking the school rules. Her new girl classmates helped her to be expelled.

But it turned out in the end that she found herself bonding with her new girl friends. And realized a big thing about true friendship.

How did it turned that way? Better watch this teen romantic dramedy film. 😉 Enjoy!

Olive standing in front of a green chalkboard, labels are pointing at her and she is holding up a page which explain how this is the story of how she ruined her reputation.

Easy A

According to Wikipedia, White lies are minor lies which could be considered to be harmless, or even beneficial, in the long term. White lies are also considered to be used for greater good. A common version of a white lie is to tell only part of the truth, therefore not be suspected of lying, yet also conceal something else, to avoid awkward questions.

It all started with a white lie. To many, it may be for the good but for Olive Penderghast (Emma Stone), it just got worse.

People nowadays are eaten by pride and would take the risk to tell a lie just to be with the trend. But as we all know, bad things come to a bad ending. And her lies started to change her whole being. The way she acts, the way she dresses and everything. Even her best friend doesn’t like it anymore.

But it all ended happily. You want to know what happened? You better watch the movie. It’ll be an eye-opener. 😉 Believe me. 😀

Movie Title: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Starring: Johnny Depp, Freddie Highmore, David Kelly, Helena Bonham Carter, Noah Taylor, Adam Godley, James Fox, Deep Roy and Christopher Lee
Year: 2005
Genre: Adventure, Comedy, Family
Plot: Young Charlie Bucket (Freddie Highmore) wins a chance to tour Willy Wonka’s (Johnny Depp) chocolate factory, with four other children, when he purchases a chocolate bar that has a “golden ticket” inside. The group of children and guardians tour the factory, where they will see the top-secret, magical processes by which Willy Wonka makes his delicious candy. Specifically, they see the Oompa Loompas (all played by a digitally multiplied and reduced Deep Roy) make the candy and mete out judgments against misbehaving children.

For me, this movie is mostly about families. Let’s begin with the main character, Willy Wonka himself.

Willy Wonka’s father is a dentist. He is too protective over Willy’s teeth. During Willy’s childhood, he went to go trick or treat but he never tasted any treat that was given to him because his father will throw these into the fireplace. Until he had a chance to taste one and he got addicted to it. And maybe that was the reason of Willy’s rebel against his father.

Let’s move on to Charlie Bucket. He has the best family ever. Even though they were poor and they live in a very “slanty” place, it never hindered him to be happy because for him, happiness is when you are with your family. He has such good relationships to his parents, also with his grandparents. They are always there for Charlie no matter what happens. I think, having good relationships with your parents and also with others is a good factor which makes a child a good person in the future.

Also, as you can see in the movie, “like parents, like children”. I think these parents spoil their child so much that they give whatever is asked by their children. Let’s assume that these traits may be good, but not always. When they ask too much and you also give in return, your child is already abusing you. And when they grow up, they would be just like their parents which is not actually good in the society.

Well, I’m speaking family here and I hope I’m not wrong with what I’m talking about. Even Princess Diana says, “Family is the most important thing in the world.” Spread the LOVE! ♥

I just saw this movie the other day with my classmates. At first, I was curious because the first batch of watchers were crying madly. They said that it’s a must-see movie. I was also excited to watch the movie.

Honestly, in the first minutes were boring although it was mixed with comedy. I thought it was a horror movie because of its title. But, it was really a comedy movie. I also thought that it was a typical movie on ghosts and other horrifying stuffs but I was wrong, very wrong.

Sang-man thought that those ghosts who were bothering him was just spirits who didn’t receive their justice and wants to find one. But in the end, REALIZATIONS IN LIFE were emphasized.

I don’t like to spoil that much and so you better watch this movie. You can realize a lot of things not only for yourself but also to the people around you.

Hello Ghost is a movie about life and death. It’s a must-see movie so you better watch it. Leave comments. 😉

Movie Title: What’s Your Number?
Starring: Anna Faris and Chris Evans
Year: 2011
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Plot: After breaking up with her boyfriend and losing her job, Ally Darling (Anna Faris) reads a Marie Claire article that changes her life. Ally is convinced that if she sleeps with more than 20 men (she’s currently at 19), she’ll never find the man of her life, so she decides to track down her 19 former lovers to see if they’ve changed enough to rekindle a romance. To aid in the man-hunting, Ally strikes a deal with her handsome lothario neighbor, Colin (Chris Evans), the kind of womanizer who prefers to love ’em and leave ’em after a one-night stand. In exchange for Colin’s tracking abilities, Ally will let him use her place as an escape the mornings after his conquests. As they look for Ally’s exes, the neighbors develop a friendship that could be more … if Ally weren’t so obsessed with her “number.”
(Source: http://www.commonsensemedia.org/movie-reviews/whats-your-number)

This is my first movie review. Honestly, this is not my most favorite movie but I must say that this is one of the best movies that I have seen in the said genre.

Ally Darling is somewhat obsessed with her “number”. She’s too afraid to grow up without the man of her life. Well, for me, love can never be based on your “number”. Although, I, as a sixteen year old teenager, would never do such thing but I am open-minded with these kind of things. I understand that the United States is a liberated country and maybe that’s the reason why Ally Darling is enjoying such freedom.

Love can be anywhere. Just like Ally Darling, she never expected that the man of her life will be the guy next door in their neighborhood. After she realized that, she ignored her “number” and just went on to what she really feel with Colin. And I think that is love. No one can ever stop you from loving. It knows no bounds and you just have to let it flow.
